DOES SMP LOOK NATURAL?
Yes. We use the pigment made specifically for the scalp and designed to maintain its intended colour. Getting your SMP to look natural we tailor the procedure to suit the result you’d like. For Eg.: a male may want an all over ‘buzz-cut’ look including restoring his receding hairline while a female may just want added density on her parting/thinning areas.
CAN HAIRLINE MICROBLADING AND SMP WORK TOGETHER?
Indeed yes. Whilst they are two different styles completely, we can incorporate either or both types of procedures to create your truly unique style.
HOW DO I CHOOSE A HAIRLINE?
We can more than help with your decision process if you are unsure of what style or type of hairline will work for you. With our artistic experience on how to fit a hairline to head shape and age, we can help recommend what’s best. Over the course of your sessions you can also tweak and adjust the hairline for your perfect result.
CAN YOU CREATE A NEW HAIRLINE?
Yes we can. We will carry out a comprehensive consultation with you prior to the procedure to understand what is important to you and what you are hoping to achieve. You will know exactly what is achievable and what you can expect the end result to look like.
With scalp micropigmentation you are able to fully customise the hairline style that fits you, even mores if you integrate Hairline Microblading (if applicable).
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO APPLY SMP?
In most case 3 sessions are required (10 days apart) to achieve the desired look. The first two sessions ‘build’ density and the third session completes the ‘feathering’ and ‘definition’ aspect of the procedure. A fourth session may be required to achieve the desired result.
WILL THE COLOUR FADE?
With time and sun exposure the pigment can lighten and it may be necessary to have a touch-up just to bring the appearance back to its original high standard. Sun exposure and skin type can affect the time touch-ups may be required. We can touch up or add more density if or when the pigment fades, or if you experience further hair loss.
WILL IT CHANGE COLOUR LIKE A TATTOO?
No. Scalp micropigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics, but unlike tattooing or permanent makeup, the pigment is designed to maintain its intended colour. The pigment will only lighten, not discolour over time.
WILL SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION WORK WITH GREY HAIR?
Yes, those with grey hair can still benefit from the scalp micropigmentation procedure. We use a grey-scale pigment to blend with lighter hair tones for grey hair work.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN SMP?
We recommend the use of a good quality sun block and a hat. This will help ensure the appearance of your procedure stays looking as it was originally intended and help protect you from harmful UV rays.
DOES IT HURT?
Some areas of the scalp may be more sensitive than others. For example, you may feel the treatment more in the temple areas than the crown area.
Most people remark they do feel some discomfort during the process of having SMP, however it is certainly bearable and not as painful as getting a traditional tattoo.
DO I NEED TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK?
No. Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. After treatment it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 2-3 days post session. Clients are able to wear hats or headwear during this time.
IS THERE A GUARANTEE?
Yes. yokototalbeauty has a 12-month satisfaction guarantee, commencing from the date of your last session. This guarantee is valid only for those who attend the full series of appointments as outlined in the initial consultation.
WHY CAN'T I SEE MY SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION AFTER A WEEK?
After the first scalp micropigmentation session, your treatment will fade which is completely normal. In the second and third sessions, we add more density to create a fuller look. Pigment retention varies for each person and some may notice more fading that others.
WHAT IF I LOSE MORE HAIR?
One of the advantages with Scalp micropigmentation is you can increase the coverage should you experience further hair loss or find it just needs to be thicker in areas. SMP provides you with options depending on the amount of hair loss and the desired look you’re after.
IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION SUITABLE FOR LONG HAIR?
Scalp Micropigmentation is used to add density to thinning areas. We are able to add thickness to areas common areas like the crown, hair parting and more. For people that are using scalp micropigmentation to rebuild their hairline, we recommend keeping your hair short for a more balanced look.
HOW MUCH DOES SMP COST?
The cost for Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) will depend on the pattern of hair loss, the size of the area to be treated and if any scars are present. Here is a guide what you might expect to pay:
- Scar treatments $800-2000

WHERE IS YOKOTOTALBEAUTY LOCATED?
Our clinic is located in North Willoughby, NSW.
I was seeking SMP as a purely temporary measure to cover my thinning hair while I decide on and save up for hair transplant, which is expensive. Fortunately for me, Yoko had a promotion which I took advantage of and had a full scalp thinning service done. After the 3rd density session, it looks so real, I'm not even going to go for hair transplant anymore.
I came to Yoko having heard about scalp micropigmentation from my wife. I was somewhat sceptical, but the consultation went so well, my scepticism was alleviated and I was ready to take the plunge. I'm fully bald with tuffs of hair, and I must say, it does look like a buzzcut. This is a happy customer and Yoko made the treatment a fun process.
